ABOUT
What Is Enrichment?
The action of improving or enhancing the quality or value of something.
What does Enrichment look like at Holy Cross?
There is more to college life than gaining qualifications. We want you to achieve your potential both in and out of the classroom, which is why we want all of our students to be involved in at least one enrichment activity.
Do I have to sign up for an Enrichment activity?
Yes. All students must complete a minimum of 6 hours of enrichment per year.
Why is Enrichment an important part of your education?
Joy. It is important to us that our students are happy. In fact, that is the most important thing to us. And we know that students who are involved in groups and societies, feel valued for their contributions, make friends and help to build a community.
Skills. Enrichment teaches you new skills and allows you to apply your existing subject knowledge to new situations. This will help you to contextualise your subjects and see them apply to real life scenarios.
Post Holy Cross. It might not feel like it right now but you are with us a very short period of time. Fast forward 9 months (just nine months) to May 2025 and you will begin to complete your UCAS application form or Apprenticeship applications. This happens in your first year of study with us.
When you start this process you must write a Personal Statement detailing your interest in a subject or area of employment. And this requires proof. Involvement in enrichment activities is the ideal way to prove your interest in a subject area.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED?
It’s not too late. In fact, it’s the perfect time.
Simply look through the directory of activities available on this website. If you find one or more that you would like to get involved with, just simply click and sign up.
It is as simple as that.
